Angelina Jolie has been living in the blonde world for years now, subtly adjusting her shade from time to time and season to season. Sometimes she's an ashy blonde, sometimes she's a caramel blonde, and right now, she's the brightest, boldest, most buttery blonde she's been in, well, forever.

Jolie premiered her more vibrant blonde color du jour at a screening of her new movie Couture, causing us to pause and zoom in on every pic to examine just what, exactly, she'd changed about her color. And change it up she definitely did! Jolie loves a heavy shadow root for a lived-in, effortlessly cool look, which is still very present here with a dark blonde base to anchor the shade and add depth around her hairline, but the lengths are a lot paler and brighter than her last public appearance. Up top, ash, wheat, and dark blonde shades are expertly blended together for plenty of dimension, with the lighter color popping up in the mid-lengths and ends; I'd call it a butter blonde, but you could also call it “Hamptons blonde,” which is an equally sunlit shade that we highlighted (pun intended) as one of our top trends for spring and summer 2026.

Let's check it out from a few different angles and a.m. and p.m. lighting, shall we?

So bright! So shiny! So quintessentially summery! Jolie must have gotten that all-too-common urge to lighten up her hair as soon as the weather warmed up, and she did so beautifully. The root isn't too heavy or dark, and the blonde is neither too warm nor too cool, but rather the perfect in-between, pale gold shade. If these pics end up inspiring a whole crop of folks to go blonde or blonder this season, we'll be zero percent surprised.
